Epoxy flooring SEO: how to rank in your local market

Epoxy and concrete coating is a high-ticket, high-intent search category. People rarely browse — they search once, look at three or four companies, and call the one that looks most established. Ranking is mostly about being specific: specific services, specific places, specific proof.

01 — Target the search, not the industry

"Epoxy flooring" alone is too broad to convert. The searches that turn into estimates look like garage floor coating near me, polyaspartic garage floor [city], epoxy floor cost per square foot, and commercial epoxy flooring contractor. Each one deserves its own page with its own headline, photos and call to action.

A single "Services" page trying to cover all of them ranks for none of them. Split them out and internally link between them so Google understands the structure of the business.

02 — Build service-area pages that a human would read

Most contractors either skip location pages entirely or spin up fifty near-identical ones. Both fail. Write pages only for the areas you genuinely serve, and make each one concrete: jobs you've completed there, typical driveway and garage conditions, local climate factors that affect cure time, travel and scheduling.

03 — Your Google Business Profile is the real homepage

In the map pack, the profile does the ranking and the converting. Categories set to "Flooring contractor" plus relevant secondaries, service list filled out, service area defined, and new job photos added regularly. Photos are the single most underused signal in this trade — a fresh gallery reads as an active, working company.

Reviews matter twice: once for ranking, once for the customer comparing three tabs. Ask for them at the moment the customer sees the finished floor.

04 — Proof beats copy

Nobody hires a coating contractor because of adjectives. They hire because they saw twenty finished floors that look like the one they want. Full-width before/after galleries, flake and color options shown clearly, and short captions naming the product system used will out-convert any amount of marketing language.

05 — Speed and mobile decide the call

Coating searches skew heavily mobile, often from a garage or driveway. A page that takes four seconds to load loses the visitor before your gallery renders. Compress images, avoid heavy page builders, and keep the phone number tappable in the header on every page.

The short checklist

  • One page per service: garage floors, polyaspartic, metallic epoxy, commercial, patios.
  • One page per city or service area you actually travel to — written, not templated.
  • Real project photos with descriptive filenames and alt text, before and after.
  • Pricing ranges or a clear estimate process so visitors don't bounce to a competitor.
  • Reviews pulled onto the site, not just left sitting on Google.
  • A quote form above the fold on mobile with a tap-to-call number in the header.
